Chief Financial Officer
Zoom Recruitment are partnering with a long-established leading Australian privately owned and operated national company that are at the forefront of their business sector which sees them provide specialist services and equipment to the construction industry.
THE ROLE:
Due to consistent growth, this company is currently seeking a suittably experienced and qualified Chief Financial Officer in a full-time position based in their Western Sydney Head Office.
Reporting to the Managaing Director, this position will see you providing high level expert advice, guidance and support to the companies Finance and Procurement divisions, while developing and instigating improvements to business strategies, procedures and policies and playing a key role within the Senior Leadership Team whose mission is to secure the functionality of the business and to drive extensive and sustainable growth.
CHIEF RESPONIBILITIES:
Finance
- Manage and execute all tax related financial activities for the organisation Including Preparation of all taxation obligations, including BAS and GST, Fringe Benefits, Payroll & Income Tax Requirements.
- Management of third-party service providers in the provision of taxation services.
- Manage the Finance team to ensure the delivery of their obligations to the business and to enable forecasts / budgets / reports to be set and monitored for all internal company departments and business units
- Ensure internal processes are in place to enable the company to function at a high level.
- Developing and providing relevant financial reports to the Executive Management Team periodically in relation to each of the company’s departments and business units
- Review all relevant procedures and initiate projects where required to improve processes, systems to increase efficiency and minimise costs across the business.
- Maintenance of accurate and complete accounting records for the businesses including forecasts and budgets.
- Review and revamp accounting General Ledger in order to allow for independent business units analysis and provide relevant monthly indicators
- Maintain financial systems to ensure the business is protected and make recommendations to enhance where appropriate
- Review of debtors and creditors to address overdue accounts to ensure outstanding items are addressed, and the accounts reflect the correct assets and liabilities.
- Ensure the protection of the company’s assets and implement enhancements where necessary.
- Ensure internal processes are in place to enable the company to function at a high level.
Procurement
- Identify, control and develop purchasing processes and practices, to ensure the best value for expenditure on goods and services.
- Train employees as required to ensure compliance to purchasing procedures by all users including the operational use of relevant software.
- Advise on developing, reviewing and implementing improved practices.
- Advise on the overall operation of the purchasing function to ensure goods, works and services are provided at the most competitive rates.
- Annually review purchasing / ordering procedures, policies and guidelines and costs.
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
Leadership Team
This role will see you being part of the Executive Leadership Team and directly involved in the development of the Company’s Business Plan and play an active part in the achievement of the companies business objectives and targets.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Degree level Finance or related tertiary qualifications as recognised in Australia.
- Previous relevant Senior Financial Management experience within a construction based business or related service provider
- Highly developed leadership skills and experience within a multi-faceted business
- Strong levels of responsibility and accountability.
- Well-developed communication, conflict management, negotiation, organisation and decision-making abilities.
- Deadline orientated, critical thinker with high level problem-solving skills.
- Practical and determined approach and familiar with instigating process improvement.
