The Company
Zoom Recruitment are partnering with a highly reputable specialist in the production and installation of automatic doors and ancillary products. With a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, they have established themselves as a leader in their industry.

The Position
An exciting full-time permanent position currently exists for an experienced and trade qualified Fitter / Fabricator to join their skilled manufacturing team located in their  Fairfield area based facility and contribute to the production and assembly of a range of high-quality products in a safe and collaborative working environment. Products include automatic sliding doors, swing folding doors, revolving doors, security doors, airtight and and one-way door systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cutting, bending and drilling steel and aluminium to specifications
• Reading and working from plans and written instructions
• Manufacture and assemble products and parts as directed by the Production Supervisor.
• Operate and maintain machinery and production equipment including metal band saws, drills, grinders, impact drivers
• Monitor the assembly process, identifying and removing any faulty products.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with the team to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote a positive and professional factory operation.
• Comply with company procedures 
• Maintain effective communication with all internal / external stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience:

• Trade Qualification in Metal / Mechanical related industry. (Essential)
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe machinery and powertool usage.
• Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Current Forklift License (favorable).
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to processes and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret cut sheets and written instructions.
• Efficient problem-solving skills with a positive attitude.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Fit and healthy.
