Hardware Retailer – Multiple Positions

Zoom Recruitment are partnering with a highly reputable and well known  organisation which has provided quality products, service and advice to tradespeople, builders and serious home renovators for over 60 years. With locations across Sydney, they are currently seeking to appoint a number of key staff at their brand-new facility located at in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs at Terrey Hills.

Our client currently has a number of positions for candidates ideally with prior experience in similar work environments in the key positions of Team Leader which will see you responsible for the overall management and coordination of the retail outlet, overseeing staff and product planning to ensure that customer needs are met. Additionally, two positions for Yardhands with Counter Sales abilities exist. Both positions are full-time and may require some flexibility with work hours (Saturdays).
Team Leader:

  • Ensure the profitability and growth of the outlet on an ongoing basis
  • Train & Develop team to promote maximum productivity
  • Regularly brief the team regarding company related events and procedures
  • Develop personal and team product knowledge
  • Promote a strong level of professional to customers
  • Ensure safe work practices and standards are met at all times
  • Monitor and maintain outlet stock levels


  • Assist with customer enquiries on the phone or face-to-face
  • Perform material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, loading and unloading;
  • Operates point of sale (POS) system to transact sales;
  • Assists in maintaining warehouse equipment;
  • Operating a forklift;
  • Rotating yard stock and notify appropriate supervisor when minimum stock levels are reached;
  • Handle inbound material receiving and allocation to a yard, store, or warehouse location;
  • Accurately loads vehicles for outgoing deliveries;
  • Reports all damage and/or loss of stock;
  • Build product knowledge;


  •  Previous background in Hardware or Plumbing or Steel/Concrete related products
  • Strong customer service, communication, and phone skills;
  • Previous experience in meeting customer expectations;
  • Forklift experience highly desired;
  • Relevant qualifications desirable.
  • Ability to undertake manual lifting to 20-25 kgs
