The Position
An exciting full-time position currently exists for an experienced Metal Fabricator to join their skilled team located in the Fairfield area and contribute to the manufacture of a range of high-quality products in a safe and collaborative environment. These include automatic sliding doors, swing folding doors, revolving doors, security doors, airtight and and one-way door systems.
As a Metal Fabricator in this organisation, your primary responsibility will be to follow health and safety standards, ensuring a safe workplace and maintaining cleanliness in your workstation and the production floor. Some adhoc site insttallation will be available on occassion.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will utilize your expertise in cutting, bending and drilling steel and aluminium to specifications
• Reading and working from plans and written instructions
• Manufacture and assemble products and parts as directed by the production supervisor.
• Operate and maintain machinery and production equipment including metal band saws, drills, grinders, impact drivers
• Monitor the assembly process, identifying and removing any faulty products.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with the team to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote a positive and professional factory operation.
• Occasionally assist with deliveries or collections of parts or finished goods.
• Comply with company procedures 
• Maintain effective communication with all internal / external stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience:

• Trade Qualification in Metalwork Industry. (Essential)
• Current Forklift License (favorable).
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe machinery and powertool usage.
• Proven experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to processes and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret cut sheets and written instructions.
• Efficient problem-solving skills with a positive attitude.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Fit and healthy.
