Storeperson / Yard Operator

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Storeperson / Yard Operator to join a busy steel distribution site in Mildura, Regional Victoria.

This is a hands-on role supporting the storage, handling, and dispatch of steel products and materials to a variety of customers, including residential, commercial, fabrication, manufacturing, and agricultural projects.

Location: Mildura VIC (Regional Victoria)

Hours

• 38 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Casual position

About the Role

This role involves general warehouse and yard operations, including:

• Receiving, checking, and storing steel and related materials
• Picking, packing, and dispatching customer orders
• Loading and unloading trucks safely
• Accurate inventory control and stocktaking
• Creating delivery manifests and paperwork using computer systems
• Operating forklifts, bandsaws, and other yard equipment
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area
• Following all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Forklift licence (essential)
• Experience in warehousing, yard operations, or materials handling
• HR truck licence (desirable)
• Bandsaw operation experience (desirable)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to multitask and problem-solve
• Commitment to safety and teamwork

Requirements

• Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test.

Pay & Conditions

Employment is under the relevant EA / Award, with classification based on experience:

• Entry Level: $37.60 per hour (casual, incl. 25% loading)
• Level 1: $38.96 per hour (casual, incl. 25% loading)
