Truck Driver/Yard Hand

Our client is firmly established as the market leader in LP Gas distribution in Australia with a strong reputation for providing value added solutions and excellent customer service.

On this occasion we are seeking to fill a an ongoing position working fulltime hours as a Truck Driver/Yard Hand reporting to the Darwin depot. Deliveries range from domestic to commercial sites. The position is Monday to Friday (38hrs) + overtime and some weekends required during peak periods.

The role will be split between truck driving and depot hand duties. Approxmiately 25-28 hours per week will be truck driving and the remaining hours in the 38 hour work week will be yard hand duties.

Duties include:

• Truck driving, carrying out both bulk and cylinder deliveries
• General yard work
• Cylinder filling
• Handle deliveries with care, following safe handling procedures
• Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with both staff and customers
• Keep the truck in top condition, performing daily pre and post-journey inspections and reporting any defects immediately
• Abide by all State and National regulations, including Driving Hours and BFM compliance
• Ensure LPG cylinders are loaded correctly
• Continuously adhere to safety standards and regulations

About you

• MR/HR License
• Clean Driving Record
• Minumum of 2 years experience driving an MR/HR Truck
• Dangerous Goos License or willing to obtain
• Pass a full medical assessment, including drug & alcohol screening and a physical fitness test
• Must be a team player
• FULL working rights in Australia – this role will be working a minimum of 38 hours per week on an ongoing basis
