THE ROLE

Currently a full-time permanent position exists for a suitably experienced and trade qualified Welder or Boilermaker to join their fabrication team.
Reporting to the Fabrication Services Supervisor this position is based at the company’s Northern Brisbane located facility and will see you performing welding and fabrication duties to support repair, maintenance, manufacturing and installation activities. This position will also see you play a role with occasional team based gas transmission pipeline project works, located in Regional Queensland locations. While prior experience in Live Line Welding is preferrable it is not essential as development and training will be provided.
  
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the manufacture and installation of metering equipment used for billing, and controlled delivery of gas to the end user premises.
• Interpret engineering / construction drawings
• Assembling and preparing documents to verify that all work undertaken has been completed in accordance with Australian Standard and company requirements.
• Respond to one-off requests from both internal and external customers promptly.
• Participate in the development of new work practices and provide guidance and coaching to apprentices
• Establishing and ensuring continuous improvement of business processes
• Perform any other adhoc duties as requested by the direct supervisor

  
ABOUT YOU

• Trade qualifications in Welding or Boilermaking (Essential)
• Minimum 3 years of welding and fabrication experience post-trade
• Experience in Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) of Carbon steel
• Live line welding experience while preferred is not essential as development and training will be provided to the right person
• Ability to Interpret of engineering drawings for fabrication
• Knowledge of relevant codes associated with pipeline equipment installation (Highly preferred)
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and build working relationships with other internal and external stakeholders
• C Class Drivers Licence
• Be available for out of hours work as required and take part in regional travel on a limited project basis
• Knowledge of HSE principles and a commitment to safety
