About The Role:            
Working on behalf of our client we are seeking an Applications Engineer to support their Internal Sales Team in the management of pumping applications throughout the entire project lifecycle—from enquiry and tendering through to award and delivery.
This role requires strong customer service and technical acumen to engage with clients on both commercial and engineering matters. Core responsibilities include general administrative duties as well as reviewing customer specifications, preparing and modifying technical documentation, managing tender budgets, and overseeing the technical and planning elements of sales orders. You will be expected to select appropriate pumps using in-house manuals and selection tools to deliver tailored solutions for a broad range of applications.

This is a 12 Month fixed term contract, with the potential opportunity to go perm.
  
  
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret technical and commercial enquiries during pre-quote and order acceptance stages.
  • Develop, review, and modify technical documentation to support tenders and orders.
  • Utilize proprietary equipment selection tools to identify the most effective solutions for customer applications.
  • Prepare and submit complex tender documents in alignment with client specifications and expectations.
  • Enter and manage orders through internal CRM and ERP systems.
  • Active and effective communication with customers and sales representatives.
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as required.

  
Required Skills:

  • Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Strong understanding of pumps, fluid handling, and process equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and P&IDs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with CRM/ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and commitment to high work standards.
