Diesel Mechanic

Our client, a leading national logistics company, is seeking several experienced Truck Mechanics to join their state-of-the-art workshop located in Willawong, Brisbane.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a cutting-edge fleet of Volvo trucks in a modern, safe, and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on Volvo trucks in accordance with the company’s Fleet Maintenance Policy.
• Ensure the fleet is kept in optimal working condition to meet operational needs and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with a team of experienced heavy diesel mechanics under the supervision of the Workshop Manager.
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with operational sites and external service providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs promptly, utilizing the latest tools and technologies available in the workshop.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, including parts used, service intervals, and any issues encountered.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in truck or heavy diesel mechanics, ideally with Volvo Trucks or similar heavy-duty fleet vehicles.
• Strong understanding of fleet maintenance, repair procedures, and industry standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively and efficiently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working within a team and liaising with external service providers.
• Certification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related field is highly desirable.
