Excavator Operator – Steel Recycling Centre

Location: Hemmant, QLD

Shift: Monday to Friday | 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Pay Rate: $47.00 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our busy steel recycling centre in Hemmant.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced recycling environment where safety, productivity, and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate excavators safely and efficiently in a steel recycling yard.

Sort, load, and process scrap steel and other recyclable materials.

Feed processing equipment and load trucks as required.

Conduct pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Follow all site safety procedures and company policies.

Essential Requirements:

Demonstrated excavator operating experience in a metal or steel recycling environment.

Current excavator ticket/licence

Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable with a strong work ethic.

Own reliable transport.

Must have full Australian working rights.

Applicants on Working Holiday or Student Visas will not be considered.

Afternoon shift (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm).
