About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to be based in Carrum Downs, Melbourne.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of products and procedures and the implementation of effective quality control measures.
They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, drive continuous improvements, and maintain product excellence. Additionally, you will document inspection results, investigate product issues, and recommend corrective actions while working with suppliers and internal teams to uphold organizational quality standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with the companies product standards.
- Analyse and identify root causes of nonconforming products, providing a deep understanding of underlying issues to facilitate resolution.
- Collaborate with engineering and other stakeholders to implement corrective and preventive actions that address root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure corrective actions resolve immediate NCRs and contribute to long-term quality improvements across processes and products.
- Effectively communicate quality requirements to suppliers, ensuring clear understanding and adherence to the companies standards.
- Provide targeted training to suppliers if necessary, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to deliver consistently high-quality parts.
- Make accept/reject decisions on inspected products and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintain files of inspection documents, and review inspection records and material test reports for compliance.
- Maintain inspection and measuring equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated and functional.
- Other Quality-Related Tasks, perform additional quality-related tasks as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Fully understanding of GD&T
- Proven experience in quality control or assurance, with a strong understanding of inspection techniques and measuring tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions with related stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Capable of inspecting tight tolerance component
- Capable of inspecting complex components
- Capable of working under different assignments – Multitasking
- Capable of working as a team and with other teams
- Must be Self-motivated, flexible, time effective, organized, and detail oriented
