Are you someone who enjoys pulling things apart, figuring out how they work and putting them back together?

Zoom Recruitment is seeking a practical and reliable Trade Assistant to join a well-established business specialising in the service and repair of industrial welding equipment. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on person who enjoys tinkering, problem-solving and learning new skills.

About the role

Working alongside experienced technicians, your responsibilities will include:

• Disassembling and reassembling welding machines
• Cleaning and preparing equipment for servicing
• Assisting technicians with inspections and repairs
• Packing repaired equipment for return to customers
• Helping with larger onsite service and repair jobs
• Completing basic workshop paperwork and documentation
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe

About you

No trade licence or formal qualification is required. We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys tinkering with machines, tools, cars, electronics or mechanical equipment
• Is comfortable using basic hand and power tools
• Has good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Is willing to learn and follow instructions
• Takes pride in completing work carefully and correctly
• Is reliable and able to work independently and within a team
• Can pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and police check

Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or maintenance environment would be helpful but is not essential.
